South African Woman Caught With N74m At Nigerian Airport, Charged With Money Laundering.

According to Premium Times, a South African woman has been arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport by National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA in possession of equivalent of millions of Naira in USD on a plane from Johannesburg, South Africa.  Following a quiz session with the authority she revealed she was given the money by a Nigerian to deliver to another in Nigeria. Two Nigerians, Damian Akamelus and Prophet Cyprian Chigere are being interrogated.
A 39-year-old South African woman was intercepted at the Murtala M​u​hammed International Airport, Lagos, with $373,725 (N74.4million) and €2,120 (N450,000) concealed inside packs of oats, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has said.

“The mode of concealment presents reasonable grounds for money laundering,” Mr. Umar said. “Five packs of oats were found to contain $373,725 and €2,120. Two Nigerians, Damian Akamelus and Prophet Cyprian Chigere are also being interrogated in connection with the seized money.”
