Met Gala or Met Ball as it is popularly known but is officially or formally called Costume Institute Gala, is an annual fundraiser gala for the costume institute of the Metropolitan Art Museum, New York. The Gala also serves as the opening day of the institute's several months fashion exhibition. This year's event is on going, Monday, 4 May 2015.
The theme of the event annually as the institute's name may have suggested is costume/fashion. Different fashion houses use this event to showcase their new works through celebrities on the red carpet. Celebrities usually wear more bespoke glamorous, flamboyant and edgy outfits to this gala possibly than any event in Hollywood. Is arguably one of the most if not the most glamorous event in Hollywood.
