Kunle Afolayan Retracts His Tribalistic Utterance and Apologises To Igbos

Kunle Afolayan

Kunle Afolayan is one guy that any aspiring film maker in Nigeria will want to follow his footsteps. He has on many occasion proved to us that he's a master of his craft. This brother put in work to give us good pictures and epic movies, nobody can deny that. And it can be quite frustrating to be denied the fruit of your labour, we understand that too.

With Kunle Afolayan level of education and exposure, we will put tribalistic statements pass him any day without a shadow of doubt. Surprisingly though we are dead wrong. The film maker added insult to injury with his tribalistic statement of "Igbos are responsible for piracy" just after a reputable King, Oba Of Lagos threatened the Igbos with death if they don't Vote for Akinwunmi Ambode for Lagos State Governor in the coming election.

Fast forward Kunle Afolayan has apologised to the Igbos and retracted his statement. He tweeted "Am really sorry if my Igbo fans and friends feel offended.I am just so bitter and pained. I am truly sorry." He claims his statement was out of frustration because pirates are threatening to release pirated copies of his new movie phone swap this is coming after some of his movies were pirated and released illegally.

Anyway, Mr. Afolayan you may need more than tweets to apologise to our dear Igbo brothers/sisters. An apology video may not be a bad idea.  On the other hand though we are gob-smacked and ashamed by his utterance.

Comedian Ali Baba came to the rescue of the film maker by tweeting  "BY THE WAY I KNOW @kunleafolayan HE IS A DETRABALIZED GUY..HE WAS JUST IN THE THROESOF PAIN FROM THE LOST OF REVENUE. HE HAS APOLOGISED"

The infamous tweet accusing Igbos of piracy
