Nigeria Is Finally Broke!! See Why.

The Central Bank Of Nigeria has just announced a N50 stamp duty on commercial bank transactions, i.e you will be charged 50 Naira for any money you receive into your account regardless the transaction means cash/cheque/electronic transfer.

The duty stamp charge is in accordance to the Stamp Duties Ac according to CBN. A Stamp Duty is legal levy that is usually applicable when you make purchases of large sums like home purchase or importation of goods.

This is where it get interesting, Nigeria main source of revenue is oil, as we all know that oil price is dropping each day drastically with slender chances of increment any time soon. As at today oil price per barrel is $28.31 according to nasdag.com, this commodity once sold for $100+. Instead of Nigeria to use oil revenue of over 30+ years to build other sectors for raining days like this we didn't. We all know what our leaders did with the money, that's another story.

In the government effort to raise fund the CBN had no choice but to introduce stamp duty on bank transactions, this is laughable but necessary- And let's not forget VAT. Nigeria doesn't have no other fully developed and structured sector apart from the communication industry, Banking sector and oil sector. We are in it for it, our dear country is finally broke and things will get much worse in time to come. Guess what, we the people are the ones that will feel the pain more as we can already see the shadow financial pain with the stamp duty introduction!

Keshi And NFF Should Build Super Eagles On Home-Based Players. - Onigbinde

Former Super Eagles coach is,Festus has urge Keshi and NFF to look into the possibility of building a strong super eagles team on home-based players. The former Super Eagles coach added...
“The issue of our foreign-based players not getting it right in their various clubs in Europe should not have been a problem assuming the NFF had measures in place to discover talents. I have said it over time that Nigeria have talented footballers that are yet to be discovered.
“When I was the coach of the Super Eagles between 1983 and 1985, I used mostly home-based players to get to the final of the Africa Nations Cup. Even at the 2002 World Cup, I also gave domestic players the chance to be part of the team.
“Keshi needs to give more domestic players the chance to be in the Eagles because it would help him get enough quality players in camp to fight for positions in the qualifiers. He needs hungry and committed players to get it right in the Eagles,” he said.

The Cable Newspaper Apologises To Wole Soyinka For Their False Story About Him Attacking Igbos.

The cable newspaper few days ago reported that Wole Soyinka made some derogatory statements about the Igbo people during a question and answer time after delivery lecture at the talk titled '‘Predicting Nigeria, Electoral Ironies’ at the Harvard University Hutchins Centre for African & African American Research, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. Wole Soyinka himself refuted the report saying 'Only a moron will believe such crap'

I personally didn't carry the story when The Cable broke it because I wasn't sure about the story. I couldn't find a video of it or any video-graphic traces of the lecture. However I found a convincing statement by someone at the talk, so I concluded the report might be hearsay, so I passed on it. I was right afterall. The Cable just apologised to Wole Soyinka.

The Cable's Apology
"The management of Cable Newspaper Ltd, publishers of TheCable, would like to make the following statement concerning our report on the lecture by Professor Wole Soyinka at the Harvard University Hutchins Centre for African & African American Research. Soyinka was quoted to have made derogatory remarks about the Igbo over their voting pattern in theMarch 28 presidential election. He has since denied the offensive quotes attributed to him.

Actress Susan Peters Shared Scary Picture Of Herself Enroute To Polling Unit

Susan Peters

Actress Susan Peters shared a picture of herself on her way to the Polling Unit. Performing her civic right isn't what's amusing but the picture she shared, she looks totally different. The actress has been deceiving the public. If we make a lawsuit accusing her of fraud, victory will be certainly our, but we will let it slide and pretend like it never happened. See the scary picture before.

Covenant University Students Gush Over Their Campus' Beauty.

Student of Covenant University shows off their institution. They gush over it, and even suggest it looks like abroad. We have to be honest the pictures looks nice, even though the institution is very strict that it admits virgins only. They were report one time that the Ota, Lagos based institution was going to conduct virginity test on students,a plan that was later shelved after students cried out for privacy violation and inhumane tendencies of the plan.

Anyway lets allow these poor kids to enjoy their little campus. Are we hating? lol See more pictures of the school.
