Osun State May Stop Its Free Feeding Of Primary School Kids

Osun State is saying they can no longer afford the free feeding of schoolchildren program in the state any further. According to the Deputy Governor, the state spends N3.6 billion yearly to feed the kids, and the Federal allocation is falling quite significantly.

The state has set up a committee to investigate the sustainability program. As it stands though is either parents will be ask to pay some money to help the government or the program will be cancelled.

Oil price is dwindling very rapidly which threatens states expenditures nationwide. This is a program that its sustainability in the long run should have put into considerate account, that's what a futuristic leader do. We suggest the government could spend money on growing the food, this way the sustainability of the program may not be threatened as it is now even in the face of total absence of federal allocation.
