British Farmer Turned Down £275Million Offer For His Land Because He Thinks He Will Be Betraying His Community.

Robert Worsley, 48, turned down the £275Million deal that's 100 times more than his farm worth. The farmer believes ''country bumpkins' (someone from the rural area) like him will be 'steamrolled' (kicked out).

His 550-acre land is in West Sussex and he has own it for 15 years. The home builder company, Mayfield first approached him 2 years ago, since then he has been approached a number of times trying to persuade him to change his mind. They intend to build residential homes, academy, school and shops on the land, they also argue that the development will be better for the community.

Mr Worsley claimed few other land owners too have been approached that they have turned down their deals too. 'Together we are going to stand up against them' he said. He also said the development the company claims the sales of the land will bring to the community is not reasonable because local infrastructure can't cope.

Principles At His Best!!
