Canada Just Elected A Legislator By A Coin Toss.

Alan Mclsaac was re-elected by coin toss for the Prince Edward Island Legislature. In the recent provincial election, two candidate, Alan Mclsaac of the Liberal party and Mary Ellen McInnis of the progressive conservative tied at 1,173 votes each. When the votes were first counted Mr Alan Mclsaac won the election by two votes, but  McInnis requested for a recount.

Coin toss is not new on that side of the pond anyway. In 2014 the Washington post reported that coin toss was used as tie breaker in 35 states in the U.S.
