Nigerian Man That Brutally Battered Wife Over Piece Of Fish Walks Free.

Okay, this case of Fatima Bankole is a sad one, and it's a case that has single handedly once again proof to us that the Nigeria justice system is paralysed, and it's not designed to defend common man. This sad story happened in July 16th, 2014 in Alasia, Ijanikin, Lagos State. Much hasn't been said about the outcome of the case other than Fatima's husband walked unpunished. However, I have gathered some facts about the outcome.

Quick run through for those who didn't know about the story. Fatima is the first wife of three, married to Alhaji Kamoru Bankole. They have been married for 10-years as at the time of the incident, they have 3 kids and pregnant with the fourth when she was battered.

Her Offence 
Her husband, Alhaji Kamoru Bankole battered his wife, Fatima Bankole after she was accused of eating the tail bit of a fish from a pot of soap, that was meant for him. It's not clear whether an argument prompt Alhaji Bankole to attack his pregnant wife which should never be an excuse or justification to his evil act. It was an extreme case of grievous bodily harm if not attempted murder considering that she was pregnant. Fatima had to have several stitches around her eye leaving her with life time facial and emotional scar. This is an horrific situation for a pregnant woman to go through.

His Punishment

Nothing! He walked a free man from Magistrate Court in Badagry. This judgement is ridiculous and doesn't have an ounce of justice in it, it has injustice written all over it.

The U.S intervention.

According to my online interview with Dr. Joel Odumakin, a active player on Mr Bankole's team. She informed me that the United State has taken the case on, challenging magistrate's court's judgement, in bid to get justice for Fatima. As at present the case is still on-going.!!!
