In a leaked internal e-mail, the company promises herself not to hire instagram hoes or thots (That Hoe Over There). The company's sacked CEO Dov Charney created a diverse ad campaign, following his departure, the company is desperate to change the company's image. The leaked e-mail is from Phira Luon, the company's model casting agent, he firmly stated they are out to hire real models.

News.com.au also reported that just last week, American Apparel’s new senior vice president of marketing, Cynthia Erland, allegedly told employees that they would not hire models who were 'too short and round,' three sources who were at the meeting told News.com.au.
