Buhari May Move To Stop Governor's Pension In Nigeria

President-elect Gen. Buhari may be moving to stop the current pension practise in Nigeria. All former governors in Nigeria are placed on life pension. The President-elect believes this is "scandalous" in his word. He stress that their is no way the country can survive the current fnancial burden placed on her.

If we recall last year the former governor of Kwara State, Sen. Bukola Saraki accrued pension was N45M which he then went on to donate to deserving students in the state through his foundation, Abubakar Bukola Saraki Students Foundation (ABSSF). He only left office in 2011 and within three years his pension accrual was N45M,  place that figure in the expenditure of all the states across the nation, that will be a lot of money that can be spent on other deserving things in the state. We believe all former governors gets a house, the house can stay but the pension cancellation may not be a bad idea.

See Bukola's tweet below when he announced his pension accrual last year.
