INEC Releases Official Statement About Kogi State Gubernatorial Election And The Demise Of Abubakar Audu


Independent National Electoral Commission released her official statement addressing the Kogi State governorship election. If you can't read the text on the image, below is what the statement states.


The independent National Electoral Commission conducted Governorship Election in Kogi State on 21st November 2015 which was declared inconclusive.

On the 23rd November, the All Progressive Congress (APC) notified the Commission of the death of its Governorship candidate in the election, Prince Abubakar Audu.
The Commission has, after the consideration of the circumstances decided as follows.

(i) to conclude the process by conducting election in the 91 affected Polling Unuts as announced by the Returning officer
(ii) to follow All Progressive Congress to fill the vancancy created by the death of its candidate.
(iii) to conduct the supplementary election on the 5th December 2015

Accordingly, notice is hereby given to the 22 Political Parties participating in the Kogi Governorship Election that supplement election in the 91 affected Polling Units shall hold on 5th December, 2015
