Russia Deploys Warships After Turkey Downed Jets. Is This WAR??

The ship is said to have the capability to ‘destroy any targets representing a potential danger’ to Russian military in Syria. Russia’s defence ministry have also claimed that all bombers carrying out strikes in Syria will be accompanied by jet fighters, as an added security measure.

Turkey, meanwhile, has released footage that reportedly proves they warned the pilots several times that they were violating Turkish airspace.

As this is the first time a NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) country has downed a Russian plane since the Cold War, some commentators have claimed that this could initiate a war between the countries at a time of already heightened international tensions
