From April 2016 You Will Be Deported From The UK If You Earn Less Than £35K Per Year

The new Home Office policy will affect oversea workers in the UK on a Tier 2 visa who enter the country on or after April 5 2011. If you can't prove your yearly earnings is more than £35K a year your visa renewal will be rejected and you will face deportation. This new threshold doesn't affect other visa categories that lead to settlement like migrants on spouse visa and long term residence.

Nurses are temporarily exempted, professions on shortage occupation list, and teachers that are professor in certain disciplines. The earning threshold may be applied to migrant nurses in the future

This threshold will mostly affect teacher, IT Professionals and Marketing Manager according to Home Office analysis of the threshold in 2012.
