Active Mobile Phone Lines In Nigeria Hits 146 Million

Number of active mobile lines in Nigeria has hit 146 Million in just few months. Th last time I checked in April, 2015 it was around 143M. The growth is rapid and impressive. Our government should just monetise this by providing enabling environment for entrepreneurs. 
Active lines in Nigeria were 145,476,326 for the month of April. The figure increased by 1,085,418 in May, the NCC said.
According to the data, 144,386,841 of the 146,561,744 active numbers subscribe to the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) network services.
The GSM operators increased their active customers by 1,329,607 as against the 143,057,234 subscribers they recorded in April.

Number Of Active Mobile Lines In Nigeria Now 142 Million

According to Nigeria Communication Commission, NCC, the number of active GSM line in Nigeria has hit a staggering 142,589,77, and the industry have itself has also grew more than expected. The industry generated $9.8 billion revenue in 2014, MTN and Airtel account for 68% of the revenue.

According to the data made available by NCC
Of the 142,589,775 active numbers, the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) networks service 140,275,599 subscribers, as against the 138,530,830 customers recorded in January, hence, having an increase of 1,744,769.
