Akinwunmi Ambode's 100 Days. The Shape Of Things To Come

It was just a few days after he was sworn into office on May 29. He was in Abuja for the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting when there were tanker fire explosions at the Idimu petrol station as well as a serious fire incident at Iyana Ipaja. He immediately took the next flight back to his state and headed for the scenes of the tragedies to personally empathise and share in the pain of the people. He gave instructions to provide immediate succour for the victims while he convened a meeting of petrol marketers to map out strategies to avoid future tanker explosions. This kind of decisive responsiveness has been a hallmark of Lagos State governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode’s governance style ever since his assumption of office 100 days ago.

Sen. Obanikoro Is Questioning The Lagos State Gubernatorial Election.

When Obanikoro congratulated Ambode, we were surprise how come because that's not so Obanikoro. The former senator never cease to show his true colour. He has taken to the same twitter he used to congratulate Ambode to raise controversial issue about the result of the presidential election and the gubernatorial election in Lagos. In a controversial way, he ask - why the turn-out for the Presidential election was more than that of the gubernatorial election.  He then went back to say though international observers confirmed that turn-out for the gubernatorial election was low. If you know that why ask questions and try to instigate a political storm or unnesseary problem.

He further stated that his congratulatory message to Ambode doesn't mean the election is free and fair. Our question is why congratulate a fraudulent victor,  If he believes Ambode's victory was fraudulent he should have object from get go rather than congratulate him then reverse it. Mr Obanikoro is very confusing.  See his tweets

“You, the party leaders have disappointed us. For the first time, we lost five House of Representatives seats to the opposition party, this is unacceptable, a huge disappointment.Though in politics you win some you loose some You have failed. So
there is no excuse to fail this time.
“Also you did not come out in large number, were you afraid.? You have no cause to be
afraid as adequate security is on ground to protect you and your property. So don’t be intimidated by their sporadic shooting of guns meant to scare you away from doing your civic right. The Hausa communities had a very good and encouraging turn-out, we expect better performance this time.”

Vote APC For Your Own Interest President-elect Gen. Buhari Tells Igbos.

President-elect Gen. Buhari has appealed to Igbos in Lagos to vote for APC after the infamous death threat issued by the Oba Of Lagos, Oba Akiolu, that it will be in their best interest. He also stated his admiration for the present Lagos Governor, Gov. Fashola on his accomplishments and his strategic approach to sustain growth in the state.

His words in text below.

"I admire what your governor has done in terms of mobilising revenue to sustain Lagos development. I have a lot of respect for Governor Fashola for his hard work, commitment to the state and the country. There is no doubt that Lagos is a mini-Nigeria. We are all here and it has been mentioned by previous speakers that everybody (tribe) is adequately represented in Lagos. So, I assure you. If you vote for the continuity of APC in Lagos, you stand to gain more. It is in your interest that you vote for the APC. Please when you go home tell your neighbours, relatives and even the opposition to please bury the hatchet. Let them fall in line and vote the APC. When we were coming in our bus, Fashola told me how Lagos State had been spending to maintain the federal infrastructure here such as buildings, roads and other institutions. I had promised before that if I won the election and became the President, I would make Lagos my priority. Governor Fashola is already holding to me to that promise so I would like the incoming governor to listen carefully and make sure he makes me honour my undertaking.”

Vice President-elect. Prof Yemi Osinbajo  on the other hand campaigns for Akinwunmi Ambode as Lagos State governor in a video. He urge Lagosians to vote for the accountant has their new governor.
